To be, or not to be:that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,

And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;

No more; and by a sleep to say we end

The heart-ache and thousand natural shocks

The flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation

Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;

To sleep; perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;

For in that sleep of death what dreams may come

When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,

Must guve pause: there's the respect

That makes calamity of so long life;

For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,

The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's delay,

The insolence of office and the spurns

That patient merit of the unworthy takes,

When he himself might his quietus make

With a bare bodkin?Who would fardels bear

To grunt and sweat under weary life,

But that the dread of something after death,

The undiscover'd country from whose bourn

No traveller returns, puzzles the will

And makes us rather bear those ills we have

Than fly to others that we know not of?

Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;

And thus the native hue of resolution

Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,

And enterprises of great pith and moment

With this regard their currents turn awry,

And lose the name of action.-Soft you now!

The fair Ophelia!Nymph, in thy orisons

Be all my sins remember'd

Sonnet 18

Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Not lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,

Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st;

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

(Robert Burns)

1

A Red, Red Rose

1

O,my luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June.

O, my luve's like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune.

2

As fair art thou, my bonie lass, So deep in luve am I,

And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a'the seas gang dry.

3

Till a'the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi'the sun, O, I will luve thee still, my dear, While the sands o'life shall run.

4

And fare thee well, my only luve, And fare thee well a while!

And I will come again, my luve, Tho'it were ten thousand mile!

(Robert Burns)

还采摘美丽的野菊花;

从清晨到黄昏;

请伸出你的手;

而我付我的;

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to min'?

Should old acquaintance be forgot,

And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,

For auld lang syne,

We'll take a cup o'kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes.

And pu'd the gowans fine;

But we've wander'd mony a weary foot Sin'auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl'd the burn,

From morning sun till dine;

But the seas between us braid hae roar'd Sin'auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere,

And gie's a hand o'thine;

And we'll tak a right guide-willie waught, For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,

And surely I'll be mine;

And we'll tak a cup o'kindness yet

For auld lang syne.

(William Wordsworth)

她们旁边的波浪也在起舞;

但她们的欢快胜过闪耀的波浪;

一个诗人只能感到快乐;

I Wandered lonely as a Cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils:

Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand I saw at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced;but they Outdid the sparkling waves in glee;

A poet could not but be gay;

In such a jocund company;

I gazed-and gazed-but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.

(William Blake)

The Sick Rose

(William Blake)

O Rose, thou art sick.

The invisible worm

That flies in the night

In the howling storm

Has found out thy bed

Of crimson joy,

And his dark secret love

Does thy life destroy.

(1794)

(William Blake)

在小溪旁在草地上;

最柔软的毛茸茸的明亮的毛;

The Lamb

(William Blake)

Little lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? Gave thee life & bid thee feed, By the stream & o'er the mead; Gave thee clothing of delight, Softest clothing wooly bright; Gave thee such a tender voice, Making all the vales rejoice!

Little lamb who made thee?

Dost thou know who made thee? Little lamb, I'll tell thee,

Little lamb, I'll tell thee!

He is called by thy name,

For he calls himself a lamb:

He is meek & and he is mild,

He became a little child:

I a child & thou a lamb,

We are called by his name.

Little lamb, God bless thee.

Little lamb, God bless thee. (1789)

(Goerge Gorden Byron)

就像晴朗无云,布满星星的夜空;

或柔和地闪现在她脸上;

She Walks in Beauty

She walks in beauty like the night

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

Thus mellow'd to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impair'd the nameless grace Which waves in every raven trees,

Or softly lightens o'er her face;

Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, so soft, so calm, yet eloquent,

The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent,

A mind at peace with all below,

A heart whose love is innocent!

(June 1814)

9 The Flea

(John Donne)

Mark but this flea, and mark in this,

How little that which thou deniest me is;

Me it sucked first, and now sucks thee,

And in this flea our two bloods mingled be;

Thou know'st that this cannot be said

A sin, or shame, or loss of maidenhead,

Yet this enjoys before it woo,

And pampered swells with one blood made of two, And this, alas, is more than we would do.

Oh stay, three lives in one flea spare,

Where we almost, nay more than married are. This flea is you and I, and this

Our marriage bed and marriage temple is;

Though parents grudge, and you, we are met,

And cloistered in these living walls of jet.

Though use make you apt to kill me,

Let not to that, self-murder added be,

And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.

Cruel and sudden, hast thou since

Purpled thy nail in blood of innocence?

Wherein could this flea guilty be,

Except in that drop which it sucked from thee?

yet thou triumph'st, and say'st that thou

Find'st not thy self nor me the weaker now;

'Tis true; then learn how false fears be:

Just so much honor, when thou yield'st to me,

Will waste, as this flea's death took life from thee. (1633)

你所拒绝我的是多么微不足道啊;

它就是我们的婚床和婚房;

发现你我现在并未因此而损失毫发;

10 Break, Break, Break

(Alfred Tennyson)

Break, break, break,

On thy cold gray stones, O Sea!

And I would that my tongue could utter

The thoughts that arise in me.

O, well for the fisherman's boy,

That he shouts with his sister at play!

O, well for the sailor lad,

That he sings in his boat on the bay!

And the stately ships go on

To their haven under the hill;

But O for the touch of a vanished hand,

And the sound of a voice that is still!

Break, break, break,

At the foot of thy crags, O Sea!

But the tender grace of a day that is dead

Will never come back to me.

(1842)

驶进了山下的港湾;

11 My Last Duchess

Ferrara

That's my last Duchess painted on the wall,

Looking as if she were alive. I call

That piece a wonder, now: Fra Pandolf's hands Worked busily a day, and there she stands.

Will't please you sit and look at her? I said

“Fra Pandolf” by design, for never read

Strangers like you that pictured countenance,

The depth and passion of its earnest glance,

But to myself they turned (since none puts by The curtain I have drawn for you, but I)

And seemed as they would ask me, if they durst, How such a glance came there; so, not the first Are you to turn and ask thus. Sir, 'twas not

Her husband's presence only, called that spot

Of joy into the Duchess' cheek: perhaps

Fra P andolf chanced to say, “Her mantle laps

Over my lady's wrist too much,” or “Paint

Must never hope to reproduce the faint

Half-flush that dies along her throat”: such stuff

Was courtesy, she thought, and cause enough

For calling up that spot of joy. She had

A heart … how shall I say? … too soon made glad,

Too easily impressed; she liked whate'er

She looked on, and her looks went everywhere.

Sir, 'twas all one! My favor at her breast,

The dropping of the daylight in the West,

The bough of cherries some officious fool

Broke in the orchard for her, the white mule

She rode with round the terrace — all and each

Would draw from her alike the approving speech,

Or blush, at least. She thanked men,— good; but thanked Somehow … I know not how … as if she ranked

My gift of a nine-hundred-years-old name

With anybody's gift. Who'd stoop to blame

This sort of trifling? Even had you skill

In speech — (which I have not)— to make your will

Quite clear to such an one, and say,“Just th is

Or that in you disgusts me; here you miss,

Or there exceed the mark” — and if she let

Herself be lessoned so, nor plainly set

Her wits to yours, forsooth, and made excuse,

—E’en then would be some stooping; and I choose

Never to stoop. Oh, sir, she smiled, no doubt,

Whene'er I passed her; but who passed without

Much the same smile? This grew; I gave commands;

Then all smiles stopped together. There she stands

As if alive. Will't please you rise? We'll meet

The company below, then. I repeat,

The Count your Master's known munificence

Is sample warrant that no just pretence

Of mine for dowry will be disallowed;

Though his fair daughter's self, as I avowed

At starting, is my object. Nay, we'll go

Together down, Sir! Notice Neptune, though, Taming a sea-horse, thought a rarity,

Which Claus of Innsbruck cast in bronze for me. (1842)

她总对人们怀有感激之心——这样很好;

我对嫁妆的正当要求;

在一种悲喜交集的情绪之下,让幸福和忧郁分据了我的两眼,殡葬的挽歌和结婚的笙乐同时并奏,用盛大的喜乐抵消沉重的不幸(克劳狄斯) 啊,但愿这一个太坚实的肉体会融解、消散,化成一片露水!或者那永生的真神不曾制定禁止自杀的律法!上帝啊!上帝啊!人世间的一切在我看来是多么可厌、陈腐、乏味而无聊!(哈姆雷特独白之一) 脆弱啊,你的名字就是女人!(哈姆雷特独白之一) 他有这样高的地位,他的意志并不属于他自己,因为他自己也要被他的血统所支配;他不能像一般庶民一样为自己选择,因为他的决定足以影响整个国本的安危,他是全身的首脑,他的选择必须得到各部分肢体的同意(雷欧提斯) 一个自爱的女郎不应该向月亮显露她的美貌;圣贤也不能逃避馋口的中伤;春天的草木往往还没有吐放它们的蓓蕾,就被蛀虫蠹蚀;朝露一样晶莹的青春,常常会受到罡风的吹打。所以留心吧,戒惧是最安全的方策;即使没有旁人的诱惑,少年的血气也要向他自己叛变。(雷欧提斯) 不要想到什么就说什么,凡事必须三思而行。对人要和气,可以不要过分狎昵。相知有素的朋友,应该用钢圈箍在你的灵魂上,可是不要对每一个泛泛的新知滥施你的交情。留心避免和人家争吵,可是万一争端已起,就应该让对方知道你不是可以轻侮的。倾听每一个人的意见,可是只对极少数人发表你自己的看法;接纳每一个人的批评,可是保留你自己的判断。尽你的财力购制贵重的衣服,可是不要炫新立异,必须富丽而不浮艳,因为服装往往可以可以表现人格……不要向人告贷,也不要借钱给人,因为贷款放了出去,往往不但丢了本钱,而且还失去了朋友;向人告贷的结果,是容易养成因循懒惰的习惯。有其要紧的,你必须对你自己忠实;正像有了白昼才有黑夜一样,对自己忠实,才不会对别人欺诈。(波洛涅斯) 在热情燃烧的时候,一个人无论什么盟誓都会说出口来……不要相信他的盟誓,因为它们都是诱人堕落的淫谋,用庄严神圣的的辞令,掩饰淫邪险恶的居心。(波洛涅斯) 在个人方面也常常是这样,有些人因为身体上长了丑陋的的黑痣——这本来是天生的缺陷,不是他们自己的过失——或者生就一种令人侧目的怪僻,虽然特每年此外还有很多纯洁优美的品性,可是为了这一个缺点,往往会受到世人的歧视。一点点恶癖往往遮盖了高贵的品性,败坏了一个人的声誉。(哈姆雷特) 最轻微的一句话,都可以使你魂飞魄散,使你年轻的血液凝冻成冰,使你的双眼像脱了轨道的星球一样向前突出,使你的纠结的鬈发根根分开,像愤怒的豪猪身上的刺毛一样森然耸立;可是这一种永恒的神秘,是不能向血肉的凡耳宣示的。(哈姆雷特父亲的鬼魂) 可是正像一个贞洁的女子,虽然淫欲罩上神圣的外表也不能把她煽动一样,一个淫妇虽然和光明的天使为偶,也会有一天厌倦于天上的唱随之乐,而宁愿搂抱人间的朽骨。(哈姆雷特父亲的鬼魂) 是的,我要从我的记忆的碑版上拭去一切琐碎愚蠢的记录、一切书本上的格言、一切陈言套语、一切过去的印象、我的少年的阅历所留下的痕迹,只让你的命令留在我的脑筋的书卷里,不搀杂一点下贱的废料;是的,上天为我作证!(哈姆雷特独白之二) 简洁是智慧的灵魂、冗长是肤浅的藻饰(波洛涅斯) “给那天仙化人的、我的灵魂的偶像,最美丽的奥菲利娅——”(波洛涅斯读哈姆雷特给奥菲利娅的信)“你可以疑心星星是火把;

The time is out of joint; O cursed spite, that ever I was born to set it right!(原句译文:“这是一个颠倒混乱的时代,唉,倒霉的我却要负起重整乾坤的责任!”)——引自《哈姆雷特(第一幕第五场)》。 There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

○1The character of Hamlet is the most outstanding of his irresolute and.hesitant. Facing the father was poisoned, mother to be possessed, Wang Quan is stolen, countries were coveted enemy of hate, Hamlet has strong revenge wish: " my destiny in the cry, make my whole body each fine blood vessels become like an angry lion. A villain who killed my father, my son, the evil Chinese to go to heaven but then Hamlet first became an ideological struggle. ○2One side is murdered his father 's tooth pain, father dead sound collection, the other side is the life value of serious thought, born with a melancholy temperament. Hamlet lies between the two hard wander. "But is afraid of death went no one back that had never found the land, if there will also do not know how, so will shake, so they prefer to endure the punishment, rather than to some other unknown suffering like this, concerns that we have become a coward, also like this, decisions are colors on white layer of thinking ill ; this can be with vigour and vitality of large for, as a result of this wonder out awkward and lose the name of action." ○3On the interpretation of a revenge plan became a bitter ideological breakthrough. In this breakthrough in the process of Hamlet constantly see the darkness of the society, was trying to put myself into this dark world, with the enemy the same means to deal with the enemy; but the humanity and the faith of justice is making the instinctive resistance. In this kind of give tit for tat the ideological conflict, the evolution of Hamlet for a difficult choice. "People are
