The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring wors and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played an impotrant part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.
The novel describes a story about a sixty years old senior fisher man, who alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish which actually his boat cannot pull. The senior fisherman waitted several days after the fish, only then discovered this was the big marlin wh ich one surpassed the oneself fishing boat several fold, although kn ew perfectly well very difficult to win, but still did not give up. Afterwards and further because the big marlin`s blood wound brought i n several crowds of shark snatches the food, but the old person still did not give up. Finally he returned to the harbor with the big fis h, which surprised other fishermen.
The Old Man and the Sea is the book that can tell us what is the real l ife and how do we get strong. In real life, we will continue to suffer set backs, the failure of many negative emotions, many people are so negati

In this story, Santiago was an old and poor widow though he was good at fishing and had so much valuable experience. He only lived on fishing all his life. At long last, he just brought the skeleton back, you may think such a fisherman should be a loser, but this result didn’t mean failing.
