Bill Gates was born in Seattle in 1955. Young Gates’ grades weren’t always great. Not until in the eighth grade did he find his passion. In the 1960s, the Mothers’ Club at

Gates’ school bought a computer for the students. Gates discovered it and soon became a computer fan. In fact, it was because of his passion programming that he later dropped

out of Harvard. He formed a company with his friend Paul Allen.

Bill gates started Microsoft Company in 1976 and in the years since then, his company has produced computer technology that has changed the way people work, communicate and

play. Bill Gates was the chief executive officer of Microsoft until 2000 when he became the company’s chief software architect. Because others were helping to run the company,

Bill Gates and his wife Melinda had time to spend on projects to improve globa l health and education. So far, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the largest charity organization

in the world, has donated a lot of money to various charities. On 27th June 2008, Bill Gates stopped his full-time work at Microsoft.

Bill Gates was married on 1st January 1994. He has three children. He is an avid reader, and enjoys playing golf and bridge.

There is a new kind of addiction called internet addiction. According to researchers, Internet addicts spend at least thirty to forty hours online every week. The use of the

Internet can be an addiction like alcoholism or drug use. People are unable to control the time they spend on the internet.

For example, one college student was missing for several days. His friends were worried, and they called the police. The police found the student in the computer lab;

he had

been surfing the net-for seven days straight.

Current studies show that about 6to 10 per cent of internet users become addicted. And some researchers worry particularly about young people because the Internet is taking the

place of the mall or the playing field for some of them. They spend more time in cyberspace than in the real world of friend and family.

What is the cure? There is advice to help Internet addicts-even online. Some experts recommend that people set strict limits on their time for Internet use. You have to control

it. The Internet shoul dn’t control you.

Most people believe we must not drink sea water. They believe that if we do we shall be very ill because of all the salt in the water. A doctor called Bombard did not believe

this. He thought that people could stay alive by drinking sea water and eating animals and plans from the sea. To prove he was right he set out in a small boat to cross the

Atlantic Ocean without any food or water with him.

Every day Dr Bombard drank just a little sea water. He also caught fish and they had water in them. He drank this water. He could not cook the fish so he ate them as they were.

He took small plants from the sea, which gave him more food.

He travelled from one side of Atlantic Ocean to the other in 65days. He lost 20kilos but he showed that people can live on sea water and the animals and plants in the sea.

I am an American student and I want to tell you about some of the things America is famous for. I think these are all important parts of American popular culture. Firstly, America makes lots of amazing films. Films are very popular in America. When a new film is released at the cinema, lots of people go and watch it. Many America actors

are world famous. Lots of them have huge houses in a place called Hollywood.

Fast food is very popular in America. In a fast food restaurant, you can buy chicken and beef burgers, chips and soft drinks as well as other things. It is great because once

you have ordered your food you only have to wait a couple of minutes for your meal to be ready. I think fast food is delicious, but try not to eat it too often because it is

unhealthy.

My favourite sport is basketball. All my friends like watching it, and many students in America support a team in the NBA. Because I live Chicago, I support the Chicago Bulls.

My favourite player is Michael Jordan. He is very famous and earns a lot of money, but he does not play any more because he is retired.

三年级英语非纸笔测试总结辛店小学白艳艳为不断促进我校小学英语口语表达能力的提高，逐渐强化小学英语综合语言运用能力，激发学生说英语，用英语，学英语的兴趣，我们三年级应教研室及学校要求，在2018年一月四日进行了英语非纸笔测试，现将本次的情况总结如下：一、非纸笔测试试卷非纸笔测试试卷是考察学生实践操作能力，综合评价学生。试卷分字词朗读、句子朗读、角色扮演、看图识词，口语选择，朗读对话六个部分，每项测试内容分评价标准不同。每部分内容紧扣课本，按照上级要求，全面考察学生的英语素养。二、非纸笔测试参与学生三年级全体学生三、非纸笔测试操作过程 1、三年级英语备课组所有教师参与评价，首先在备课组长带领下集中学习非纸笔测试评价方案，并对本组老师进行非纸笔测试评价培训，统一评价意见。 2、分组进行评价，在备课组长带领下进行统一测试。 3、综合评价成绩各班考评完毕后，老师把班上每组成绩汇总到一起，将成绩交给教导处。四、非纸笔测试的反思

本次进行非纸笔试测试，孩子们很兴奋。主要是因为非纸笔测试与纸笔测试比较，孩子往往更喜欢前者。他们在准备和接受测试的过程中，享受到了学习的快乐。但也有部分同学由于程度差，感觉较难。 1、通过本次测试，我们更准确的了解到孩子们存在的问题：（1）字词朗读。部分单词拿不准读音，尤其长错误较多。（2）句子朗读。能达到准确朗句子，但不够流利。（3）角色扮演。这部分孩子做的较好，可见平时老师要求的都做到了。当然也有10%的学生完成较差。（4）看图识词。这部分孩子做的较好。（5）口语选择。这是本次测试较薄弱的环节。学生的英语表达能力不够好。（6）朗读对话。能达到准确朗对话，但感情不够充沛。 2、从此次测试中了解到，平时对英语学科感兴趣的学生能一气呵成地完成测试，但部分后进生则不敢开口，或是开口声音比较小；今后教师在教学中应多创设英语教学情境，营造英语学习氛围，开展丰富的课内、外活动，激发学生的英语学习兴趣，注重课堂40分钟教学的有效性，加强课后教学内容的复习与巩固，鼓励差生开口学说、唱英语，多读多练多唱；教师要多检查、多督促、多指导。五、反思与期待：这次口语测试能较好地反映出我校小学英语教学的基本现状，客观上确实存在着一定差距。在今后的工作中，我们要及时总结经验、及时反思不足、不断改进教学，使今后的英语口语教学能更上一层楼。借鉴好的经验，祢补不足，认真搞好日常口语教学。

三年级英语口语测试质量分析 1. 日常交际在这一部分的测试中，学生的语音、语调较为准确，测试的整体情况较好。绝大部分的学生都能用心和老师交流，认真聆听，大方对话，准确地运用平时所学到的日常交际用语，有良好的听说习惯。存在问题：（1）少部分学生对话交流不熟练。（2）部分学生运用语言不够准确,把What’s your mother / father?回答成：It’s a doctor. （3）有为数不少的学生不懂得回应How do you do? / You’re lovely / cute / clever. （1）虽能唱但歌词咬字并不准。（2）节奏感不强，时快时慢。（3）旋律虽能把握，但语音语调并不十分和谐，缺美感。（4）少数缺乏自信，声音很小。今后教学建议: （1）老师在平时的课堂教学中加强并丰富自己的教学语言。（2）把握好课前几分钟的Greetings/Everyday English/Free talk. （3）课内外善于和学生用简单的英语进行交流。（4）多关注学困生,多鼓励他们大胆开口说英语。（5）教师在加强音乐素养的提升同时，要善于帮助孩子们提高对语言韵律的敏感度，理解语言的意义。（6）注意激发孩子们的兴趣、保护他们自信、保持他们的热情。（7）围绕我们的课题“唱乐英语”创编更多适合孩子们的年龄特点，知识结构的歌谣，寓教于乐。
