1.2006年高考浙江卷

当前不少文学作品被改编成电影。有人选择看电影，有人则喜欢读原著。请以“Film or book，which do you prefer?" 为题，按照下列要点写一篇英语短文：1．看电影：省时、有趣、易懂；2．读原著：细节更多、语言优美；3．我的看法及理由。

Film or book, which do you prefer?

Some of us think that it is better to see the film than to read the book in the original. The reason is that it takes less time to understand the whole story. Besides, the film is usually more interesting, and it is easier to follow.

Some others have just the opposite opinion. They think that they can get more detailed information from the original. Meanwhile, the language in the book is possibly more lively and beautiful.

Personally, I agree with the second view. Actually I have more reasons for it. I think I can stay at home, reading quietly in a situation of my own, and what's more, I am able to better understand the author's ideas. In a word, to read the original work is better than to see the film based on it.

人们完成工作的方式通常有两种：独立完成和合作完成。两种方式各有特点。请你以“Working Individually or Working in a Team”为题，按照以下要点写一篇英语短文：

There are basically two ways to get work done. One is to work individually. In this way, people can decide for themselves when to start work and how to do it. What’s more, they will be able to learn bow to solve problems on their own.

People may also choose to work in a team, where they can learn from each other and help each other. Besides, they may work out better ways to get work done by discussion.

Personally, I prefer to work in a team, which offers me a chance to learn how to get along with others and to share my experiences with them. As the work can be divided among several people, it can be done efficiently. Teamwork is always important.

Sample 1:

As middle school students, we all have taken examinations of different types and experienced success as well as failure. Different people take different attitudes towards failure in the exams.

Some of us become low in spirits in the face of failure. Worse still, some students are so disappointed that they don’t want to make further efforts in their studies. As a result, their studies go from bad to worse as time goes on.

Fortunately, some students take quite positive attitudes towards their setbacks. They spare no efforts in analyzing the cause of their failure and at the same time encourage themselves to

become more confident so that they won’t repeat their mistakes in their later examinations.

As far as I’m concerned, I believe that failure is the mother of success. As long as we can find out the root cause of our failure and step up our efforts to improve our ways of learning, we can surely make great progress and turn our dreams into reality.

Sample 2 :

We middle school students have had many tests or exams. We have both achieved success and suffered from failure. Different students take different attitudes to failure.

Some fall in low spirits when they don’t do well in the exams. They usually lose heart and no longer study as hard as before. However, most students take an active attitude towards failure. They encourage themselves to be self-confident. They find out and analyze the causes so that they will no longer make similar mistakes.

As for me, I agree with those with active attitudes. As we all know, failure is the mother of success. Even great men may have failed many times before they succeeded. So we must deal with failure correctly.

Some are in favour of staying at home. They think it’s both convenient and comfortable. What’s more, they can save money for other purposes. But they will lose the chance of getting to know the outside world.

However, others prefer to go out for travelling since it can increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons. But they will spend more money and meet some difficulties while travelling.

In my opinion, it would be much better to stay at home, for I can do what I like, such as reading books, watching TV, and helping my parents with the housework.

I’m writing to tell you about t he discussion we’ve had about whether an entrance fee should be charged for parks.

What is more, it will become necessary to build gates and walls, which will do harm to the

On one hand, some people are in favor of getting rid of it. They think it is difficult for foreigners to understand those Chinglish signs. What’s more, we should learn standard English.

However, on the other hand, other people are against the idea. In their opinion, for one thing, Chinglish makes English more colourful. For another, Chinglish adds much pleasure to our life.

As far as I’m concerned, we should learn standard English instead of Chinglish. Only in this way can we communicate with foreigners better.

Some people think group dancing is good for health and can enrich our school life. It helps students understand each other better. Also it can help students improve their sociability. It is a healthy means of communication.

But other people hold the opposite view. They feel that in the countryside, the teachers don't

have enough experience in teaching dancing and also there isn't enough room for students to learn dancing. Last but not least, group dancing is jus a form or a performance, which can't help students to keep fit.

As to me, group dancing may lead to an increase of boys and girls falling in love (with each other) once they have more chances for physical interaction.

50% of the students hold the view that university students needn't be financially independent, because trying to make money in their spare time will affect their studies. They also think that they can repay their parents and society by studying harder.
