array

capsule

degrade

（pl.）（企业、机构等使用）房屋和基地，经营场址

"License off" is what you might see above the door of a British pub, meaning the pub has license to sell alcohol for consumption on or off the premises.

retrieve

sentiment

strive
vi. 努力，奋斗，力求
Modern men have to strive with/against various temptations.
现代人不得不与各种各样的诱惑做斗争。

suspicious
a. 猜疑的，疑心的；
可疑的；（of）表示怀疑的
The ignorant are suspicious.
无知者多疑。
Don't always be suspicious of us!
不要老是对我们疑神疑鬼的！

uphold
vt. 支持，维护
Men should also do everything to uphold women's legal rights.
男人也应该竭其所能去维护妇女们的合法权益。
The judge upheld the lower court's decision.
法官维持下级法院的判决。
