在美国过年，不会有国内那种热闹。美国社会没有中国的春节概念。就连他们的年节，也没咱国人那种热闹。然而异域他乡的华人，总忘不了中国过年。今年春节正巧碰上是周末，我们以吃为主“欢度春节”!
受朋友之约去他们家度除夕。开车半个多小时到得他家，进门一看好家伙，到了差不多百来人!一问才知他们家搬了一座大房子，邀请大家来庆“僑迁之喜”。客厅里摆上大条桌，主人做的各式各样菜肴摆满几排。按照这边不成文的惯例，来聚会的人家都会做份自家拿手菜带来。十几家带来的菜一加上，平面不够只好“立体”摆放，简直就成了一个中国食品大展台：北方饺子好多种，南方湘菜、川菜、粤菜更多;面条米粉南北各式;鸡、鸭、鱼、肉分炒、炖、薰、蒸五花八门。酒水饮料成堆，自助餐具任你选用。边吃边聊边看春晚，浓浓的中国情早忘了身在美国这异域他乡!
大年初一正好星期天，我们自家去到中餐馆吃一顿庆新年，特意选了《大上海》餐厅。因为平常多去湘味、川味菜馆吃腻了，这次换换上海口味尝尝。到那里一看，两个餐厅全坐满。华人最多，美国白人来吃的也不少。没办法，只好由服务生安排我们先坐下来等待。前后花了两个来小时吃了这一餐，依然感到不虚此行。中国菜肴有一种魅力，叫你吃后嘴上有余香，心里更思念。边吃边聊中国菜，每人都回忆吃过的一长串......
妻说年三十晚桌上的鱼是不能吃完的,一定要“余”下来,表示“年年有余”;儿说记得小时后过年最爱吃外婆做的油炸饼，那种味道真难忘。那时天真地想：能天天过年就好了!儿媳说最爱家乡的水蒸肉饼，不腻不肥正合口;小孙子讲得更滑稽：能一天给我换个口味我就不会吃腻啦!
餐馆吃客真多，服务生忙得头都晕啦。为我们送菜的是位上海老大姐，她转了几圈把我们订的一盘鱼送到别桌去了。最后问她怎么还没上，她幌然大悟连忙“检讨”。最后硬是给我们加送一笼水饺，说是“做赔”，我们当然惋谢了。
最近这里的中文报上最多的广告是餐馆。中餐馆逢年过节特火爆。在美国，世界各族裔的人都有。外来各族裔菜肴影响力，还是中国饮食最受人们喜爱。前不久去到一个美国大商贸中心“贸(Mall)”。那里除了日用商品也少不了餐馆。美国“贸”里餐馆最多的是美国饮料和“麦当劳”，唯一一家外裔饮食店，就是“Chinese and Japanese Restaurant”即中、日餐馆。
在职时我曾去过国外一些地方，包括澳大利亚、日本、泰国、北欧以及南美的波利维亚等等。因习惯难改，每到得一处就找中餐馆，因为吃“洋餐”总感觉吃不饱。所到之处无不都能找到中餐，就连很少华人的玻利维亚。那大约是1998年去南美洲考察，不但找到了很好的中餐馆，还与一位在玻国首都办中餐馆的女老板从北京同坐着同一架飞机。交谈之中，她热情地约定我们到了拉巴斯(玻国首都)一定要去她的餐馆吃饭，还不无骄傲地对我们说：要吃中餐很容易，就是走遍全世界，你都能找到中餐馆!
每个民族都会有其独特的饮食文化。就全世界而言，能如此普遍地推广传播饮食文化的，唯中国莫属!
别小看这一日三餐，饮食里头，的确包含了深沉的文化内涵，传递着一种无形的信息，那是这个民族走过的远古历史，和她具有的深层文化魅力!

自己动手的喜悦足以冲洗贫寒的难堪。遒劲有力的毛笔字与百种不重样的窗花总是最般配的。猪圈鸡圈旁贴下“六畜兴旺”，米缸面缸旁贴下“五谷丰登”，那时人与人之间很是亲热，一件喜事不出一会就能在乡邻中传个遍。
过去的年，过得很缓慢。
走亲戚能从初二走到十五，一大家子也没人嫌烦。但亲戚踏破门槛的壮观，让乡邻街坊间不像今天这般冰寒。那时候没有手机，更没有电话短信。吃饭时有说有笑地夹菜，见面时诚诚恳恳地聊天。没有电子设备和高科技的年代，专注的心和真切的情就着一桌好菜，能再多扒几碗饭。
我放下手机，联欢晚会早已告一段落。
默默地看向窗外，长辈口中的红灯笼、花对联、噼啪作响的鞭炮声都找不到踪影。鳞次栉比间，几点柔软的灯光却依旧明亮。
过去的年回不去了，但我们终将走过过去，总要迎来明天。
如今的年味为什么这么淡?
因为年味早已拌进了寻常日子的每一天。
小爷爷的“根”
今年过年特别热闹!离开家乡20多年的小爷爷从美国回来了。
小爷爷其实是我的姨爷爷，奶奶说叫小爷爷显得更“亲”。小爷爷也不小，81岁了，满头银发，身体硬朗，还十分健谈。我爱听小爷爷天南海北地聊天，不管是几十年前的旧事，还是大洋彼岸的风土人情，我都听得入迷。不过，小爷爷有句话我不太明白，“人老了，该叶落归根啦。这次回来，就是想找找‘根’。”
“根”是什么，又该到哪里找呢?
大年三十，奶奶准备了一大桌丰盛的年夜饭，“来，先尝一下我亲手包的烧卖”。小爷爷眼睛一亮，迫不及待夹起一个，蘸下米醋，塞入口中，“哦，笋丁鲜
肉馅吧，真香!好多年没吃到这么鲜的烧卖喽，真想念这一口。”我有些好奇，“小爷爷，美国华人街难道没烧卖卖么?”“有是有，可美国的烧卖没你奶奶包得地道。就拿这冬笋来说吧，哪儿的都比不上杭州的冬笋鲜!”白斩鸡、熏鱼、炒二冬、油爆虾、老鸭煲……一道道家乡菜上来，小爷爷都赞不绝口，“人越老对家乡就越有感情。在美国我和你小奶奶常常看央视新闻联播，看到杭州就特别兴奋。这两年杭州的镜头尤其多，G20峰会，世界短池游泳锦标赛，接下来还有亚运会，真给海外的杭州人长脸。”
“就是电视里的杭州，我们都不太认识啦!”小奶奶插了一嘴。“对，对，对!”小爷爷连说了3个“对”，“别的不说，就拿我们以前居住的延安路来说吧，变化太大了，都是高楼大厦，我和你小奶奶出门都怕迷路。”我忍不住又问了一句，“你们住在纽约，不是比杭州更繁华吗?”“第五大街是很繁华，但纽约也有很多破烂地方。美国效率太低，一个地区改造，从拆迁到建成，没有五六年办不成。”话匣子一开，小奶奶也“刹”不住了，“嗯。中国发展真是太快啦!这次我们回来，很多当年的学生拜访我们，日子都过得红红火火的。难怪你美国的舅舅，这两年也一直念叨着想回国内发展呢”……
餐桌上的火锅冒着热气，一家人越聊越酣畅。我有些明白了“根”的含义，琢磨着明天带小爷爷小奶奶去湖滨公园、吴山广场逛逛，看看舞龙，唱唱京剧，一定会找到更多“根”的。

“好，就要这个。”她指了指最朴素的那个。小孙女急不可待地跑上来，拿起纸往玻璃门前跑去。“胶布忘拿了!”她三步并做一步疾走至工具箱前，却回身看到闪亮的门上早已有了一个赫然的“福”字!她诧异地瞅了几眼，小孙女清脆的声音便在耳畔响起：“姥姥，这是免胶静电贴纸，只要按上去，便再也不会掉。对了，姥姥，您知道吗，‘福’要倒着贴，因为……”“这样才能保证福到财到!”她展开笑颜，将我这个小孙女拥入怀中。
