阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。

On a bright, warm July afternoon, Mac Hollan, a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friends. One of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on, and they would catch up with him soon. As Mac pedaled (骑行)along alone, he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at home. He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday.

Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing be hind him, “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it wasn’t a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.

Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing opening his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase(追赶).

Mac was pedaling hard now. He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down. He saw a steep uphill climb before him. He knew that once he hit the hill, he’d be easy caught up and the wolf’s teeth would be tearing into his flesh.

At this moment, Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They didn’t think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road. A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike. As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf. Mac heard a large vehicle behind him. He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now.

语言要融入所提供的语境当中。根据故事的叙述视角,可确定时态为一般过去时。

Smelling the flavor of the meat, the wolf turned around and ran alongside the meat. The two cyclists u-turned in a crossroads. 高考给材料作文的审题和立意 基本理论: 随着近几年话题作文被人们普遍认同,材料作文逐渐退到幕后。话题作文以其开放性和写作空间的自由度较之以往的命题形式是有了很大进步,但也带来了一些不可避免的套构、宿构、抄袭等问题,去年全国高考,海南有一篇满分作文,在报上刊载后,被人们认为是抄袭《故事会》上的一篇文章;前段时间上海市中学生作文比赛,两篇一等奖的作文又被判为抄袭。于是业内人士认为,试题封闭吧,是限制了学生的思维;而试题稍微开放一点,就会带来抄袭、套构、宿构等问题。因此,在这种情况下,材料作文是不是会由幕后再重新回到幕前来,应该引起同学们相应的重视。 材料作文较之话题作文,审题上有一定难度,它首先要求考生审清材料的中心内涵,选准角度提取观点,材料在作文中必须引用,而由材料引发其他联想,通过分析、议论,表达自己对人对事对物比较深入的思考。虽然标明文体不限,实际上受材料本身所限制,还是以议论为主,不像话题作文,所给材料可引可不引,只要在话题范围内,天马行空,任你驰骋;文体上可议论,可记叙,可抒情,编造寓言、神话、童话、科幻,甚至写小说,都无不可。所以,材料作文本身就是一种限制性很强的作文,千万大意不得。但也有好处,就是注意到了读写结合。对材料的审读也应该是很重要的能力,因为它直接考察学生是否具有辩证思维的能力,是否能够透过现象看本质,是否对事物的分析不停留在其表面,而能深入事物的本质内涵。事实上,对材料审读有偏差的同学,即便其文笔再好,作文也缺乏对事物认识的深度,或者,观点容易偏激。 除了审题有比较严格的要求外,材料作文的基本定位也要注意。一般来说,材料作文的基本定位如下: 一、引述材料。这是第一步定位。材料字数如果比较多,可以概括性引述;材料字数比较少,可以照引不误。 二、分析材料,概括中心内涵。 三、联系现实,提取观点。 四、由此及彼,产生联想,想到其他事情,紧扣观点,具体深入分析。联想根据论证观点的需要,可以是相似联想、相反联想、相关联想等。选例必须精当,对事情的分析,必须能够恰如其分地说明你的观点。 五、做出结论。 具体写作时,也可以先开门见山提出观点,再引述材料,可以灵活机动,但对于高考作文来说,观点必须在显眼地方提出,不要含蓄地将观点包含文中,使阅卷老师费猜。要知道是阅卷老师审查你,不是你审查阅卷老师的阅读水平,看他是否能读懂你的文章。 审题分析训练: 1、题目: 与但丁、莎士比亚齐名,被称为世界诗坛三大巨匠之一的歌德,享年83岁,就在他逝世前的7个月,才完成了大型歌剧《浮士德》下卷的创作———补写完了难度较大的第四幕,使他的创作生涯达到了自己的颠峰。 他的好友爱克曼在问及歌德的创作经验时,歌德只说了一句话:“我的创作好比推一块石头上山,石头不停地滚下来,我又推上去。” 歌德的回答非常简单,却给人很多启迪。请根据上则材料,结合自己的感受和体会,写一篇1000字左右的文章,文体不限,题目自拟。 像这一篇材料作文,首先就要弄清歌德这句话的含义,这句话是个比喻,它把创作的过程比作上山推石头,石头不停地滚下来,又推上去。这就道出了创作的艰辛。伟大的作家总是为自己
