1.How to Succeed in a Job Interview?

With the development of job market, job interview plays an important role in job-hunting. It is necessary that we should learn some tricks to perform better in a job interview.

On the one hand, a job interview offers interviewees and interviewers respectively a chance to know each other within a very short time. On the other hand, excellent performance in an interview will enable the interviewees to exert a good impression on the interviewer and finally win the job.

Therefore, how to succeed in job interview is worth paying attention. Firstly, interviewees should dress neatly and properly. Secondly, interviewees should be confident. For example, when asked about professional questions, interviewees should give a clear and definite answer.

Thirdly, interviewees should have some knowledge about the company and the position they apply for. In other words, interviewees should prepare themselves something about the interview in advance so as to show that they attach vital importance to the job.

In fact, the ways to succeed in a job interview are countless. It’s time that we laid stress on interview because it’s the first step of our work experience.

2.Reduce Waste on Campus

As is known to all, waste on campus has become a more and more serious problem. We can easily see many students dump a lot of food in the garbage can. Stone students spend thousands of yuan buying fashionable clothes and so on.

The negative effects of waste can be shown in the following aspects. In the first place, it makes stone students dependent on their parents for money, which is harmful to their development. If they don't learn to support themselves, they will be "useless people" when they graduate. In the second place, it is not easy for our parents to arrange for our schooling. Last but not the least important, there is no denying the fact that our country is still poor. There are many people who cannot go to university and many poor people still need our help.

As far as I am concerned, I should set a good example to reduce waste on campus. First of all, I will refrain from wasting anything, from food to stationery. What's more, I'm determined to call on more schoohnates to fight against waste. Only through these measures can we hope to reduce waste on campus.

3.Should parents send their kids to art classes?

Can your kids play instruments like piano, violin or guitar? Are your children able to paint, dance or sing? If your little sweetheart can’t do things like these, you have to think about sending him or her to an art classes to learn something. It is popular nowadays.

At the beginning of every vacation, you could find it is incredibly crowded in all kinds of art schools. Excited parents and frustrated kids wait to attend some classes during their holidays. Although those parents choose the extra classes, they have different opinions. Some of them just don’t want their children spend the whole vacation in front of the television or the computers, others may want to be the Dad or Mom of a futu re excellent artists. But the majority of them just don’t want their kids to be left behind if all kids around them can do something special.

Talking about this behavior, some are for it because it can make the spare time of kids full and amazing. Also, it gives them a way to entertain and relax. But at the same time, some people believe it is completely a waste of time. It force kids to do the things they don’t like at all and take the precious time of their childhood.

As far as I’m concerned, children definitely should develop hobbies in order to add some colors to their future life. But the first thing is that children can choose their own hobbies instead of being chosen by their parents. In short, do not “send your kids to art classes” but let them go t here all by themselves.

4.Keeping Pets

There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do. They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that. They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals’ world and develop positive feelings toward them.

Others, however, hold the opposite view. They regard keeping pets as a useless but harmful thing to do. First, pets can transmit diseases. Secondly, the noises and dung of pets are sources of pollution. Last but not least, as many rare birds and animals are kept as pets, they will surely be hunted on a large scale, which means a threat to the balance of the ecosystem.

5.Student Use of Computers

This chart shows the increase of student use of computers from the year 1990 to 2000. As we can see, in 1990 the average number of hours a student spends on the computer per week is 2. In 1995, however, the number doubles and in 2000, it soars to 20 hours per week.

There are many causes for this change. For one thing, computers can do a lor of things that may be difficult for man to do, making man's work easier. So, many people turn to computers for help when they want to have their job done. For another, computers are becoming cheaper day by day. As a result, many universities install them in large numbers and many families can afford to buy one, consequently, they are always available for the students to use. But the prime reason, I think, is that with the development of society, computers are used in ahnost all walks of life. Those who are specialized in operating computers are badly needed. If a student is good at computer, chances will be greater for him to get a job.

Many problems also arise in students use of computers. One problem is that some students spend too much time sitting in front of their computers, as a result, their bealth is affected. The other problem is that some students chat or play video games for a long time on computers, wasting a lot of their precious time. So it is suggested that these students make a scientific and positive use of the computers.

6.Will E-books Replace Traditional Books?

A new era has come. With the mass production of electronic devices and application of new technologies, mankind h as entered an “e” age. Nowadays, we have e-mails, e-tickets, e-tests, and e-books, and consequently, paper-based materials gradually vanish. Nowadays, e-books become extremely popular among youngsters, while traditional ones seem suffer a great loss of their readers.

For some people, electronic and internet based books are convenient and accessible. Environmentalists even advocate the benefit of e-books on the ground of forest protection. E-books lovers even assert that traditional books will disappear in the near future.

I have been a book worm for a long time. For me, reading experience is unique and rewarding. Nothing can be more thought-provoking than thumbing through a book bought years ago under a table lamp in a dark night. As to note-taking, scanning and skimming, and portability, traditional books have advantages. Just as the invention of camera didn’t put an end to the history of painting, traditional books are, and will still be, an intimate friend of readers.

7.It Pays to Be Honest

As the gradually improvement of our life standard, the invisible, but significant role of honest that plays in our daily life has been realized. However, though most of us acknowledge the importance of honest, nowadays, our society is still filled with many awful phenomenons, implying that we are seriously lacking of honest. We should own the awareness that to be honest is not only just good for others, but good for ourselves actually.

What we said is far different from what we did. Everyone declares that we should be honest, be the pioneers leading our society into a harmony one in public. Nobody suspects the remarkable factor that honest plays in every aspect of our society in public. However, what makes us depressed is that their behavior is far different from their speeches without the public attention. For instance, a very ambitious mayor is charged to be corrupt, a famous and warm-hearted philanthropist is accused for evading paying taxes for many years. Both of these are only one aspect of the dishonest events turning up in our society. All the phenomenons declared that we are seriously lacking of the awareness to be honest, having nothing to do with what and how many speeches we addressed in public.

To be honest does not only mean that do not telling lies, actually, means that you open your heart to others, and others will be sincere to you afterwards, which differs from that you should suffer losses every time. To be honest is also the only tips to make real friends. The role honest plays is invisible but remarkable. In order to meet the requirement of our society, our students should hold the view to be honest.

In one word, the further development of our society needs honest, the real improvement of ourselves also needs honest. It pays to be honest.
