总结主谓一致的规则：

（一）并列结构作主语时与谓语的一致关系

(A)由and 连接两个名词或代词作主语时

1.A、B表示不同的人、物或概念时，谓语动词要用复数形式

---Li Ming and Zhang Hua _________(be)good students.

(B)A、B 表示同一个人、物或概念时，谓语动词要用单数形式

--- A journalist and author ________(live) in the sixth flat.

(C)A、B之前有each, every, many a（许多）, no 等修饰语时，谓语动词要用

单数。

---Every boy and every girl ________(be) invited.

---Many a boy and many a girl________(be)invited.

注意：many a …也跟单数谓语

----Many a students _______(like) pop music.

(D)A、B为两个不可分的东西时，谓语动词用单数。(表示一个整体的还有：law and rule法规fish and chips炸鱼加炸薯条knife and fork刀叉a horse and carriage 马车)

补充：

a. a great\good many+复数名词时，谓语动词用复数。

b. all+不可数名词

(二)由or; not only…but also…; either…or…;neither…nor连接主语时，谓语

动词应该使用就近原则和后一个主语保持一致。

Some people begin their most exciting day by drinking a cup or several cups of coffee. People have always said that a cup of coffee in the morning helps them begin their day on the right foot. They need a cup of coffee to get going in the morning.

It is not the coffee but something in the coffee that exercises our bodies and brains. It is a substance called caffeine(咖啡因)

Caffeine may strengthen a person’s power of the body and the mind. For example. Two cups of coffee will increase blood flow, breathing and body heat production by 10 to 20 percent. All of this makes your heart beat faster, and doctors warn that this may be somewhat dangerous.

Caffeine is found in tea, coffee, chocolate and many other common foods. A little caffeine is probably not harmful ,but too much caffeine can result in nervousness and sleeplessness.
