The Mariana Trench (马里亚纳海沟) -- the deepest part of the world’s

oceans -- extends about 11 kilometers down in a farway part of the Pacific

Ocean. But if you thought the trench could hide from plastic waste, you

A recent study showed that a plastic bag, found at a depth of more than

10 kilometers in the trench, is now the deepest known piece of plastic waste.

Scientists found it by looking through a collection of photos and videos taken from 5,010 dives over

Plastic can enter the ocean directly. It can be brought into the sea from a beach by tides(潮汐) or be thrown into the sea by people on ships. than you might think such as coral and jellyfish. Many photos have shown some of these sea animals being caught in the plastic waste.
