Discuss Crusoe, protagonist of Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, as a middle ?class hero. Write a short analysis in no more than two hundred (200) words to discuss Mr. Hurstwood, a character in Dreiser's novel Sister Carrie, as a victim of environment.

1. Discuss George Bernard Shaw's idea on the capitalist oppression of

women, using his play Mrs. Warren's Profession as an example. 2. Discuss Eugene O 'Neill's play The Hairy Ape as a work about "modem man's search for identity.

A Pact I make a pact with you, Walt Whitman-- I have detested you long enough. I come to you as a grown child Who has had a pig- headed father; I am old enough now to make friends. It was you that broke the new wood, Now is a time for carving. We have one sap and one root-- Let them be commerce between us. I make ap act with you (Whitman) I detested long enough you (Whitman) I come as a grown child to you (Whitman who is a pig - headed father ) I am old enough to make friends (without you, Whitman?) You / Whitman broke the new wood We have one sap and one root It was you that broke the new wood, Now is a time for carving.

We have one sap and one root. Let there be commerce between us.
